A frequently traveled road that has potholes and other hazards is best navigated by making a mental note of any known hazards along the way.  Avoiding damage to a vehicle or the possibility of an accident is greatly improved by simply keeping a mental note of all hazards along regular routes.  Finally, checking with the Department of Transportation or other agencies that maintain the roads can also greatly reduce the chances of coming into contact with serious and dangerous potholes.  As a last resort, when actually coming in contact with a possible pothole there are a few easy ways to avoid damage or injury.
