Thanks to the generous support from the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) and the collaborative efforts of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), a record level of recycled materials were used in the pavement of highways, residential areas, and for commercial parking lots.  NAPA estimates that using recycled materials on America’s roads has saved about 21.1 million barrels of liquid asphalt, amounting somewhere in the ballpark of 2.2 billion in savings.
